Chic Magnet

I was very disappointed when Escada discontinued Magnetism, proably almost 20 years ago now, as it has always been one of my favourite fragrances to won and use. Even now it is very distinctive, and any remaining original bottles are extremely expensive or hard to track down.

Fortunately Chic Magnet IS available! It was fantastic to have that first whiff and have many great emotions and memories return. I consider it a very good reproduction or "re-imagining" of Magnetism. It is exactly the same, there is a tiny difference, but it is 90%-95% similar and overall enough to fill the void left by the original.

I have bought it three times, as I dread Chic Magnet one day being lost as well.

You can read about the scent notes, but I would just add that it is quite different to the majority of fragrances and it has a real "edible' quality. It's sometimes referred to as having a 'grape' soda smell, although I would liken it more to a vanilla-cola... The base of cedar (like taking a deep breath of sawn cedar timber), amber, vanilla, musk are aspects I always like, and it has a powdery aspect (as in the clean/fresh scent of a talc) as well as a faint tang at the high end (perhaps where the soda references come from). Overall it is a mid-range heavy scent, I think... settings on an EQ favouring the mids and lows but with a restrained sharpness.

Most fragrances react differently on the skin of differently people, and Magnetism has always worked for me. I don't think it's exceptionally long lasting without wearing a lot at a time, but if you reapplied it throughout a day you'd enjoy that rush of fragrance and boost to mood again and again.

I would definitely recommend it... but I don't want everyone else wearing it either! Another great thing about it is that it stands out as different to more mass appeal scents, which is why owners of the original guarded their supply so carefully.

9/10, and Alexandria Fragrances has my absolute gratitude for bringing this amazing fragrance back. Anyone who owned the original should get this: you will not regret it and you will feel immense joy when you inhale this signature smell again.

Isnt this Fragrance for men's use, why does it say "women's scents " in categories ?
