Vintage 1978

It was in 1980, when I had my first encounter with POLO green. Suddenly a gentleman passed by and the fragrance molecules of his After Shave hit me like a hammer. What I´ve never done before - I followed him and asked him, which fragrance he uses. Since that day Polo accompanied me, But over the years it changed the concentration and gets weaker.
The the day came, when i read about Alexandria Fragrance and that Hany Hafez
create "Vintage 1978", a reminescence to Polo in its originally form. I live in Germany, so its a little bit difficult, and expensive to buy goods from the United States, but I tried it..
A few days later, I held it in my hand and was excited like having a rendevous with the past.All in all, its a fantastic chypre creation and remembers me of the old Polo. But there is a little soapy note in it and I wish to get little more of cypress, pine needles and patchouly. The best to describe Polo is when you imagine a golf green and smell freshly mown lawn.
Hany Hafez may forgive me, but after an hour of spraying, I layerd it with the rest of my Polo. That was the absolute olfactoric perfectness.
Vintage 1978 is a perfect companion for everyday, masculine, woody and unmistakable, Hope to help you with my review.

I haven’t smelled vintage Polo since the 90s, but this is definitely in the same ballpark. Much better than the current formulation. There’s nothing else out there that smells like this. It’s incredibly invigorating and masculine. I can’t stop smiling every time I wear it!

Wow !! Does this take me back - so close to what I grew up with and was missing. I think I found a new winter signature for my rotation.

To my nose it doesn't smell like polo but it does smell unbelievablely good. This was inspired by vintage polo and if you are looking for an old school powerhouse perfume this is for you. Harken back to the days when men smelled like men and women loved them for it!!😄
